New NEP is unscientific- Congress Leader Mahdevappa

Mysuru, Sep 3(UNI) Former Minister and senior Congress leader H C Mahadvappa on Friday said that the New Education Policy( NEP) is against the interest of poor, Dalits and weaker sections of society and warned against its implementation.
Speaking to media here, he said, ''I have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the problems related to NEP. He has also asked the state government to go slow on its implementation. Education policy was implemented in 1068 based on the recommendations of the Radhakrishnan committee. In 1086, the Kotgaria committee had given another report. This was helpful for all sections of society'', he said.
The Congress leader said the NEP framed in 2020-2121 has been inspired by the United States modal. It has been framed without taking all the issues into consideration. This will be a setback for students from rural areas, backward communities. The new NEP will only help those wanting to go to the US to pursue higher studies, it has not been discussed in the Lok Sabha also, he said.
