Wadiyar's entry into BJP good for Mysuru region and Karnataka: Vijayendra Yediyurappa

Bengaluru, Mar 14 (UNI) Highlighting the significance of Yaduveer Wadiyar joining the saffron party, Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa sees the entry of the scion of the erstwhile royal family as a positive development, not just for the Mysuru region but for the entire state.
"Yaduveer Wadiyar joining BJP has sent a very good message not only in the Mysuru region but across the entire Karnataka. It has strengthened the BJP in the Mysuru region," he told reporters here on Thursday.
Vijayendra also believed that Wadiyar's affiliation with the BJP would bolster the party's position in the Mysuru region specifically.
He expressed confidence that the BJP will achieve significant electoral success in both the Mysuru and Madikeri Lok Sabha constituencies.
Additionally, Vijayendra emphasized the BJP's broader goal of expanding its influence in the Old Mysuru Region and securing an absolute majority in Karnataka.
"His presence in BJP, we will not only win with a record margin in Mysuru and Madikeri Lok Sabha constituency but also our aim is to expand our base in Old Mysuru Region. Simply because we aim to ensure BJP should come back with an absolute majority," he said.
Vijayendra underscored the importance of Karnataka as a stronghold for the BJP in South India and stressed the necessity of maintaining the party's dominance in the state.
"In South India, Karnataka is a big bastion for the BJP. So, to retain this dominance, the BJP has to come back with absolute majority in Karnataka," he said.
