Now vaccination must for those buying liquor in TASMAC shops : Minister

Chennai, Nov 28 (UNI) This might not be a good news for tipplers as
the Tamil Nadu government has made COVID vaccination mandatory
for those visiting the state-owned TASMAC shop to buy their quota of
liquor.
Talking to reporters here today, Health Minister Ma.Subramanian said
a circular would be issued to all TASMAC shops and an advisory to all
the district collectors to ensure strict monitoring.
The Directorate of Public Health (DPH) and Preventive Medicine had
recently made vaccination mandatory for people visiting public places
as per the Tamil Nadu Public Health Act and this would be applicable
to those visiting TASMAC liquor shops as well, he said.
The Minister, who visited a venue of the 12th mega vaccination camp
centre being held in 50,000 places across the State, said the State’s
first dose coverage has reached 77.33 per cent, while the second dose
was 42.10 per cent.
About 78 lakh people were due to take the second dose of COVID-vaccine.
