Kakinada: Van driver gets 2.5 years jail term for causing accident & death

Kakinada, Mar 4 (UNI) The principal junior civil judge cum judicial first class Magistrate Court at Tuni on Monday convicted and sentenced van driver Sanapala Ramarao (38) to undergo two and a half years imprisonment and also pay a total fine of Rs. 11,500 under three counts for negligent and rash driving and dashing a car leading to the death of one person and injuries to the other.
The prosecution case was that the accused 38-year-old driver of Madhavapuram village in Kotabommali Mandal, Srikakulam district, dashed a car near Jagannadhagiri centre on April 5, 2019, leading to the death of Surendra Varma and the injury of Mudunuri Bhagatraju.
The Tuni rural police have registered a case.
