CAA notification 'electorally motivated' : Karnataka CM

Chamrajnagar, March 12 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday criticized the recent move by the Narendra Modi government to notify the rules for the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), labeling it as "electorally motivated."
Expressing his opposition to granting citizenship based on religion, Siddaramaiah questioned the timing of the Modi government's actions, noting their silence on the CAA until the approach of the Lok Sabha elections.
He made these comments while speaking to reporters after paying his respects to late Congress leader R Dhruvanarayan on his first death anniversary here.
