Hyderabad, Feb 8 (UNI) Telangana's COVID-19 tally of cases rose to 2,95,682 so far with 101 new Coronavirus infections being reported in the state until 2000 hours on Sunday .
One patient lost his life to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the overall fatalities to 1,611 translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin on Monday.
A total of 197 people have recuperated from Coronavirus statewide taking the cumulative number of recoveries till date to 2,92,229 constituting a recovery rate of 98.83 per cent while the National recovery rate was 97.2 per cent.
Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 1,842 including 751 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
In all, 18,252 swab samples have been tested during the last 24 hours in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 478 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, more than 81.22 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state as on date since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) continued to be the top contributor of the infections by registering a maximum of 24 fresh Coronavirus cases followed by Ranga Reddy district (10).
The remaining COVID-19 cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
