571 more test positive for Coronavirus,  8 deaths reported in UT since last  24 hours

Puducherry, Aug 25 (UNI) As many as 571 more persons were tested positive for the COVID-19, taking the total number of active cases to 3,981 and 8 patients died in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to COVID 19 status released by the health department here on Tuesday, 529 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, 36 in Karaikal region and 6 in Yanam region.
As many as 331 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours. Of them, 314 were from Puducherry region, one from Karaikal region and 16 from Yanam region.
