Visakhapatnam, Sep 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated
the American corner established at Andhra University premises here on Thursday.
Speaking after virtually launching the corner, Mr Reddy said that the young people of Andhra
Pradesh will have access to a global knowledge hub in the form of American corner.
Expressing happy over the setting up the outstanding facility in Visakhapatnam by the US Consulate
in Hyderabad, the CM said was confident this high level coordination between Andhra Pradesh and United State would continue.
This newest American Corner will soon emerge as one of the best in the world and the young people of Andhra Pradesh will benefit from these resources, contribute to the prosperity of our state, and strengthen the U.S.-India partnership, the CM added.
US Consul General in Hyderabad Joel Reifman, who was present on the occasion, said the Visakhapatnam corner alongside Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, will be the third corner opened in India by the US Mission and to complement American centres in New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai.
"An American Corner is a community gathering place that features guest speakers, movie screenings, English language classes, book clubs, education advising for U.S. universities, and celebrations of American holidays,” the Consul General said.
