TN CM, leaders extend Women's day greetings

Chennai, Mar 8 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin and leaders of various political parties greeted the women on the occasion of International Women's Day on Friday.
Mr Stalin listed out several women welfare initiatives launched by the Dravidian Model of governance ever since the DMK returned to power in May 2021.
Among the schemes highlighted by Mr Stalin in his message were free bus travel scheme for economic independence of women--the first file signed by him after becoming Chief Minister for the first time in May 2021--Rs 1,000 per month for women household heads, dravidian movement's role in ensuring equal rights for women, materntity assistance scheme, marriage assistance scheme, increasing maternity leave from nine months to 12 months, increase in quota for women on par with men, higher education assistance scheme, among others.
