AP CM announces setting up of BMCU, AMCUs with an expenditure of Rs 4,000 cr

Vijayawada, Apr 16 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy announced setting up of Bulk Milk Cooling Units (BMCU) and Automatic Milk Collection Units (AMCU) with an expenditure of Rs.4000 Crore in the state.
Launching the AP Amul Project in Guntur district virtually from his camp office here on Friday, the Chief Minister said to strengthen the Amul and to benefit the women dairy farmers, through the AP-Amul project, 9,899 villages across the state, would be brought under milk production, where Bulk Milk Cooling Units (BMCU) and Automatic Milk Collection Units (AMCU) would be established with an expenditure of Rs.4000 Crore.
He said the project was started after an MoU was signed between Amul and the state government on July 21 to give a fillip to the empowerment of women self-help groups by encouraging the milk cooperatives in the government sector.
