Police arrests 3, recovers Rs 13.90 lakhs worth stolen articles

Bengaluru, Oct 16 (UNI) Police on Friday arrested three people, including two criminals from Odisha and a local lad, and recovered from them Rs 13,90,000 worth stolen gold chain, 126 mobile phones of different companies and Rs 60,000 cash.
Police said that the arrested were identified as Das Balaji, Prem Das (both hailed from Odisha) and Kumar of Bengaluru.
In a complaint filed with Upperpet police, a housewife had stated that she came by bus from Shivamogga with Rs 98,000 cash, 14-gram gold chain for treatment of her husband admitted in Jayadeva Hospital in the City. But to her shock culprits have robbed money and gold needed for treatment.
