7.14 lakh families benefited from Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak Schemes in Telangana : Minister

Hyderabad, Sep 9 (UNI) About 7.14 lakh families were benefited by Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak Schemes meant for BCs, EBCs, SCs,STs and Minorities in Telangana from the financial year 2014-15 to till date, Minister for Backward Classes and Welfare Gangula Kamalakar informed the Assembly on Wednesday.
Replying to a question raised by members in the house, Mr Kamalakar stated that an amount of Rs 5556.44 crore was spent by the government so far for the schemes.
The department wise quantum of funds spent by the government so far for the two schemes -- BC Welfare Department ( Rs 2523.68 crore) followed by Minorities Welfare Department ( Rs 1197.65 crore), Tribal Welfare Department ( 701.11 Crore) and SCD Department ( 1134.01 Crore).
