High level meet soon on Yeleru reservoir modernization : AP Minister

Kakinada, Sep15(UNI): A high level meeting will soon be organised on Yeleru modernization project to resolve the perennial problem of flooding of upper reaches and water shortage for the tail end lands under Yeleru canals system .
Announcing this at a media conference after touring the flood affected areas spread over to Gollaprolu, Pithapuram and Peddapuram mandals along with the officials of revenue, irrigation and agricultural departments on Tuesday , the Minister for agriculture and cooperation Kurasala Kannababu said that due to receiving of heavy inflows following incessant rains in the agency areas form the past two days , the Yeleru reservoir was overflowing as such water was released flooding several areas in peddapuram ,Prathipadu and Pithapuram constituencies.
