One killed, 20 injured in road accident in Kerala

Kasaragod, Mar 18 (UNI) One person was killed and 20 others injured, including one of them seriously, when a private bus capsized at Chalikalil National Highway (NH), near Periya, on Monday.
According to police, the deceased was identified as bus driver Chethan Kumar (37) of Madhur in Kasargod district.
The incident took place around 1600 hrs when the bus "Mehaboob '' proceeding to Kannur from Mangalore capsized after losing control of the wheels at Puloor near the Periya Panchayath office building. Police, firefighter personnel, and residents rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers; a few of them were trapped under the bus and shifted to Kanhangad district hospital. One of the passengers is in serious condition, and five of them were admitted; the rest took outpatient treatment from the district hospital, police said.
