Machil reopens, Keran road shuts again due to fresh snowfall

Srinagar, Mar 28 (UNI) Traffic on Kupwara-Machil road was resumed after remaining closed for about a week due to snowfall early last week while Kupwara-Keran road was closed on Monday due to fresh snowfall.
Meanwhile, Bandipora-Gurez road remained closed since January Ist, 2021 due to accumulation of snow and avalanches.
A Police Control Room (PCR) official told UNI over the phone from Kupwara that traffic was resumed on the Kupwara-Machil road which connects dozens of far flung and remote areas with district headquarters. The road was closed due to fresh snowfall last week. However, snow has been cleared and traffic resumed this morning, he said.
