Srinagar, Apr 1 (UNI) After intermittent rains and snowfall in higher reaches for the past three days, the weather improved across Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar said on Monday that the weather is likely to remain dry for the next 24 hours.
There is a possibility of rain or snow at scattered, isolated places on April 3, while rain and snow could occur at scattered places on April 6–7. Thereafter, the weather is likely to remain dry until April 11, MeT said.
Kashmir plains were lashed by widespread light to moderate rains, while the upper reaches experienced fresh snowfall during the past several days, plummeting the temperatures at the most weather stations in the valley.
The bright sun appeared with pleasant weather conditions in Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir valley on Monday.
As per the MeT office, Srinagar had a low of 6.4°C during the intervening nights of Sunday and Monday. However, it was normal for the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir during this period of the season.
The tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district dipped to 0.7°C against 0.8°C the previous night, and it was 1.0°C below normal for the tourist spot in south Kashmir.
The ski resort of Gulmarg also witnessed a dip in the night temperature, recorded at -1.6°C against -1.2°C a day ago. It was 0.8°C below normal for the ski resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday, the MeT office said.
