UP Congress leaders ask leadership to end confusion on state president

Lucknow, Dec 12 (UNI) Buoyed by the victory in three Hindi speaking states, the Congress leaders in Uttar Pradesh have urged the party high command to immediately end the confusion over the party’s leadership here in the state.
The workers wanted that delay in taking decision would hamper the Party’s prospect here in Uttar Pradesh which holds the maximum Parliament seats.
"For the last one year after internal Party’s elections, we all are waiting for the High Command to take a final call on the future of State president as confusion is unnecessary taking it’s toll on the working of the Party", claimed one of the sitting MLAs while reacting to Congress prospect here it UP in the next Parliament elections, in wake of recent success in three Hindi speaking states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
On request of not disclosing his identity, the leader claimed that though Babbar is continuing as state president but as the Party’s high command signaled to replace him so the Committees having new officer bearers of either at the State level or even in the district level were not announced which further damaged the functioning of the Party.
"The members and leaders of existing Committee, both at the state level as well as district level were unaware whether they will continue or will be replaced, so they were taking least interest to work with full devotion and sincerity to strengthen the Party here in the State", the leader asserted adding that similarly Babbar is also just passing his time and had so far not started any big campaign against misrule of either the Central Government or against the State government.
A senior leader from Gorakhpur too supported the above MLA’s claims and said here on Wednesday that the High Command had taken decision about placing senior leaders in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh etc months back before the polls which facilitated them with time to subside the infighting and till the elections, new team is ready which finally paid dividend from them in form of victory for the Congress retaining three of the five states where polls are held.
He said that now with Rahul Gandhi is free from election tours so he must take a final call on UPCC too so that new leader or even Babbar if he will continue should make a team and kick off election preparation for 2019.
The leader also claimed that a early decision is also necessary as Rahul Gandhi is proposed to take massive tour of Uttar Pradesh later this month, holding public meetings in all the five zones of the State, so it is better that before start of above campaign, Congress had a full fledged Organisation ready to work in field and strengthen the Organisation.
