Knowledge given by saints must be used to address developmental challenges: Mishra

Lucknow, Apr 25 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra on Thursday said the extensive knowledge imparted by the sages must be used to address contemporary developmental challenges.
Addressing a two-day workshop to outline the framework for the design and development of an International Vedic Sciences Research Centre in Naimisharanya at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, the Chief Secretary said, "We must contemplate and research how we can use the profound knowledge imparted by the sages in the forests of Naimisharanya, which unfortunately disappeared during the medieval era, to address contemporary developmental challenges."
He said, "I suggested developing Naimisharanya, a sacred pilgrimage site into a Vedic city where people come to alleviate their problems on the lines of Kashi. We will also embrace the idea of naming trees after the names of 88,000 rishis there."
