War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 2,941

31 Oct 2020 | 3:02 AM

Bhopal, Oct 30 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 2,941 on Friday in Madhya Pradesh where 12 fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally touched 1,70,690 with 691 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 28,995 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin pegged the number of active cases at 9,294 – a statistic that is providentially revealing a downward trend. Bhopal continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 180 new instances; Indore 108; Gwalior 65; Jabalpur 28; Shivpuri 24; Ujjain 20; Ratlam 14; Rewa 13; Dhar, Raisen and Khargone 11 each; Vidisha ten; Balaghat nine; etc. An encouraging fact is that no fresh patient came to light in Tikamgarh and Burhanpur.

The silver lining is that 1,58,455 individuals recuperated; 1,074 on this very day.

Rahul is targeting Indian Army: Kailash

31 Oct 2020 | 2:31 AM

Indore, MP, Oct 30 (UNI) In a frontal assault against Congress bigwig Rahul Gandhi, Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya on Friday accused the former of bombast while posing rhetorical questions to Premier Narendra Modi on the campaign trail in Bihar.
Speaking at a press conference in Madhya Pradesh’s commercial capital, the saffron camp stalwart said, “By asking Mr Modi about China’s People’s Liberation Army, Mr Gandhi is attempting to demoralise our own gallant officers and men! Every Congress leader who possessed self-esteem resigned from that party and entered BJP ranks. Daughters and sons of India perceive no future vis-à-vis the Congress that is tending towards zero. The collapse of its dispensation in this state was a direct consequence of the party leaders’ annoyance. Erstwhile chief minister Kamal Nath has been employing unguarded language during Assembly by-poll campaigning.”
