Kejriwal's arrest unjust, highly condemnable: Ram Gopal Yadav

Etawah (UP), Mar 22 (UNI) National Chief General Secretary of Samajwadi Party Prof Ram Gopal Yadav on Friday raised questions on the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the alleged liquor scam and said that arresting the president of a national party just before the elections in the name of excise policy cannot be justified in any way and it is highly condemnable.
Talking to the reporters at his Saifai residence, Ram Gopal said that whenever a party foes such an act due to arrogance of power then the public will give a befitting reply.
He said that people do not learn anything from history. "The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history," he said while quoting a philosopher. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) people did not learn anything from former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi," he said.
Ram Gopal said, "In 1977, Congress had contested elections all over the country under the leadership of Indira Gandhi, but the public taught Congress for the emergency in such a way that the party disappeared from the entire country, BJP people will not learn anything from the wave since 1977. In 2024, the public will teach that putting someone in jail cannot stop him from winning. Because of the irritation of losing badly in Delhi, they were looking for an excuse as to how to stop it, but the people of this country side with the one who is treated unfairly."
He alleged that all the action is being taken in view of the elections. "BJP has nothing else in mind except elections, its aim is to make the people of the country poor, make the people completely dependent on the government for food and drink, keep them unemployed, give the country's wealth in the hands of some capitalists. At the time of elections, the ruling party can buy people through that property," he said.
On the question of freezing the accounts of Congress, the Chief General Secretary said that BJP is doing everything for elections, nothing for the public. "It talks about Viksit Bharat, but unemployment in the country is at its peak, inflation is at its peak, farmers and youth are committing suicide. Now only the public will answer," he said.
