BJP leaders violating model code of conduct: Akhilesh

Lucknow, Jan 17 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its leaders of violating the model code of conduct and said that his party will lodge a written complaint with the Election Commission.
At a press conference held at the party headquarters, Akhilesh said, "BJP, its leaders are continuously violating the model code of conduct. The SP will lodge a complaint with the ECI in this regard and we hope that the commission will order the BJP to follow the code of conduct properly."
On the occasion he took a resolve with the farmers to oust the BJP government while accusing it of doing injustice and committing atrocities against the farmers.
"We take resolve to remove and oust those who did injustice and committed atrocities against the farmers," he said.
Akhilesh also announced the minimum support price of every crop will be announced when the SP comes to power in the state.
"When the SP will come to power we will ensure MSP of all the crops, payment dues of the cane farmers will be made within 15 days. If required we will create a farmers revolving fund for this purpose. Besides, provision of the interest free loans, insurance and pension for the farmers will also be made," he said.
He reiterated his earlier resolution of 300 units free electricity per month to every consumer and said that free power for irrigation will be given to the farmers.
Akhilesh also announced that the cases lodged against farmers during protest against the farm laws will also be withdrawn. "We will withdraw all the cases lodged against the farmers during the year long stir and will give Rs 25 lakh each to the families of the martyred farmers," he said.
He also announced to felicitate Tejinder Singh Virk, who had claimed that he was the main target in the Lakhimpur Khiri incident. Virk was present during the press conference.
Akhilesh said that the BJP which is now claiming that it withdrew three farm laws in the interests of the farmers, actually did so for their votes. "The farmers made the government bow before their demand," he said.
On Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad accusing him for failing to stitch an alliance, Akhilesh said, "It is not about a single party. If he wants to help he can help like a brother," he added.
