BJP will cross 300 mark this time: Shah

Bareilly, Dec 31 (UNI) In order to muster support in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Union Home Minister and party's former president Amit Shah took out an impressive road show in the city.
Shah's road show, which started from Kutubkhana locality passed through more than a dozen localities, covering Sarafa Bazaar, Muth ki Chowki, Shyam Ganj, Kirana Bazaar, Kaali Badi, Bareilly college gate and culminated at Patel Chowk.
As Shah's Rath passed through various localities, he was accorded a warm welcome by the people, even in minority dominated pockets, who showered flowers from the rooftops and balconies.
The Home Minister was accompanied by Union Minister and UP election in charge Dharmendra Pradhan, Arjun Meghwal, former minister Santosh Gangwar, BJP's national treasurer Rajesh Agarwal, state president Swatantra Dev Singh and other senior leaders.
Addressing the public at Patel Chowk, Shah said that similar to 'manjha' (thread used to fly kites) prepared in Bareilly, which is very strong, this road show has proved that the people have full faith in Modi and Yogi therefore he expressed confidence that this time BJP will cross 300 mark.
Expressing gratitude towards the people of Bareilly for giving a rousing welcome, he said that there was 'goonda raj' in the previous government, but the Yogi government is treading on the path of development.
Taking a jibe at Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav, Shah said that when raids started on the people regarding accounted money, he started having a stomach ache.
He said that since Aurangzeb's time it was proving difficult to pay obeisance to Baba Vishwanath, but now Prime Minister Narendra Modi has got a grand corridor constructed so that people can pay obeisance to the deity.
After the meeting Shah went to the circuit house where they held meetings with the party office-bearers, MPs, MLAs and discussed poll strategy with the core committee. He will leave for Delhi on Saturday morning.
