Kejriwal's mindset towards minorities shameful: Punjab BJP chief

Chandigarh, Mar 14 (UNI) Terming Arvind Kejriwal's "wild outburst" on CAA as "personal desperation and political opportunism", Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar on Thursday said the Delhi Chief Minister has demeaned the persecuted minorities who have come to India.
Jakhar alleged that Kejriwal also shamed the migrant families settled in Delhi who voted for AAP in big numbers.
"Kejriwal ji has forgotten them after seeking their votes and is now trying to spread a fear psychosis
among those who have finally got a chance to be recognised as Indian citizens," Jakhar said while reacting to the Delhi CM's statement following the notification of rules for the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
His statement is "shameful" and must be condemned, he said while demanding that Kejriwal apologise unconditionally. "Voters of Punjab and Delhi will make him feel sorry for what he has said," Jakhar underlined.
Jakhar was interacting with media persons here after Patiala Member of Parliament Preneet Kaur formally joined the BJP.
Welcoming her into BJP, he said her stature and experience is an asset and her formal joining today has further strengthened the party's base in the state. People of Punjab are waiting for the chance to teach AAP a lesson and the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls would announce the end of AAP from the political map of the country.
Punjab and Punjabis today need strong leadership who can safeguard the state's long-term interests, he said.
Responding to a question, Jakhar said rampant corruption, patronage of mafia, everyday violence are legacies of the present regime in Punjab and people are visibly fed up with AAP both in Delhi and Punjab. UNI GS SSP
