Link roads remain under snow more than a week after snowfall in Kashmir: Tarigami

Srinagar, Jan 12 (UNI) Alleging that people have been grappling with sever crisis as the administration has miserably failed to tackle the situation that arose due to snowfall last week, senior CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Tuesday said snow has not been cleared from link roads while water and electric supply remained affected in many areas in Kashmir.

“Snowfall is nothing new in Kashmir given its climatic conditions and topography. But despite that the administration was caught napping as most of the link roads still remain closed more than a week after the snowfall. The snow and the government’s failure to anticipate challenges despite the meteorological department’s warning of heavy to very heavy snow, have thrown life completely out of gear in the Valley and angered people,” Mr Tarigami alleged.
