AICC forms six-member coordination panel in Himachal

Shimla Mar 10 (UNI) All India Congress committee on Sunday formed a six-member panel for better coordination between the government and the party organisation in Himachal Pradesh.
The decision was taken days after Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu's Congress government plunged into a crisis following cross-voting by six party MLAs in the February 27 Rajya Sabha polls in the state. As a result of the cross-voting, the Congress candidate senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi lost the poll. Singhvi and his BJP rival Harsh Mahajan finished tie at 34-all in the vote count. Mahajan then won through draw of lots.
Later, the six Congress legislators were disqualified by Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania.
