HP Minister files FIR against journalist for spreading "false" information

Shimla, 20 Dec (UNI) Revenue and Horticulture Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jagat Singh Negi, filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Himachal Dastak TV correspondent Mast Ram Dalail, accusing him of spreading "false information" on social media platforms.
According to the FIR (No. 20/24), filed at Chhota Shimla Police Station, Negi refuted claims of a fight between him and Education Minister Rohit Thakur during a cabinet meeting held on March 2. The FIR states that Negi saw the "fabricated news" circulating on Facebook after the meeting, which was allegedly spread by Dalail.
The FIR mentions sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause a riot), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence), 469 (forging for purpose of cheating), 500 (defamation), and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Mr. Dalail.
