HP: Complaint lodged against state-run school for indulging in religious activities

Shimla, Apr 20 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Gayan Vigayan Samiti (HGVS) on Saturday lodged a complaint with the director of Higher Education, raising concerns over rise in religious activities and rituals in state-run schools.
The complaint, filed by HGVS state secretary Satyvan Pundeer, highlighted instances of religious functions being organised in schools without prior permission, potentially propagating an unscientific temperament among students.
In a representation submitted to the official, the HGVS expressed dismay over a recent incident where a 'havan yajna' (a ritualistic fire ceremony) was conducted in a Senior Secondary School in Sarkaghat, Mandi district.
