India will emerge as superpower under Modi's leadership: Yogi

Lucknow, May 29 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is seen moving forward as a self-respecting and capable country in the world and the day is not far when the country will not only achieve the aim of becoming the third largest global economy, but will also provide leadership to the world by emerging as a superpower.
During media interaction to highlight the achievement of the Modi government in the last nine years, Yogi said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the model of service, good governance and poor welfare to the country in the last nine years which is attracting the entire world. We are not only feeling the changed situation but also seeing a new India in different sectors."
He said, "Due to internal and external security, strong infrastructure, ease of doing business, digitalisation and transparency in functioning India is fast emerging as the world's preferred investment destination. India has established itself as the fifth largest economy in the world and the day is not far when it will not only become the third largest economy in the world but also become a superpower and provide leadership to the whole world."
The CM said that India's reputation has increased at the global level. "The scenes of the PM's to three nations are in front of everyone. The Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea not only broke the protocol and received Prime Minister Narendra Modi after dusk, but also greeted him by touching his feet. This is the first time that the PM of a sovereign nation has felicitated its counterpart in this manner."
He said that Papua New Guinea and Fiji conferred their highest honour on PM Modi. "Apart from this, the Prime Minister of Australia called Modi a boss and the American President expressed his desire to take his autograph. These incidents have increased the respect of 140 crore people of the country and made them feel proud," he said. Yogi said that today India's heritage is respected in the world.
"Every year on 21st June, the whole world is honouring the heritage of India by joining Yoga. The internal and external security of the country has been strengthened during the tenure of Modi." he said.
He said, "Today no one can dare to look at India with a crooked eye. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had said that neighbours cannot be changed. According to his point of view, India has a positive attitude towards its neighboring countries, but the habits and tendencies of some countries do not change, so India has done the work of giving a tit-for-tat answer."
The CM said, "The borders of the country have been secured and strengthened. The internal security situation has strengthened. Be it Jammu and Kashmir or the Northeast, we have decisively brought down extremism, Maoism, separatism and terrorism. A sense of new hope and confidence has arisen in the country in terms of security."
He said that today India has world class infrastructure. "After 70 years of independence, where there were only 74 airports in the country, 74 new airports have come into existence in the last nine years. Apart from air connectivity, unprecedented changes are being seen in the fields of highways, expressways, waterways, railways and logistics," he said.Yogi said, "Not only rapid rail is being developed, but new ports are also being built. The waterway is benefiting from the floating jetty. New AIIMS are being built in the country. UP has got two new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Health infrastructure has been strengthened." He said that infrastructure is being developed for every section according to the aspirations of the country.
"Under the leadership of PM Modi, an unprecedented achievement has been made in the direction of poor welfare. The schemes have been taken forward for the welfare of the poor with the spirit of everyone's development without any discrimination," he said.
The CM said that the scheme which started with Jan Dhan has taken so much expansion. "Accounts of more than 45 crore poor people were opened in the country. The change that was seen from this is unimaginable," he said.
He said that UP got maximum benefit from it. "More than 8.5 crore bank accounts were opened in UP. As a result of this, the benefit of Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) is being received. This is the biggest attack on corruption. The funds of the schemes are reaching directly into the accounts of the poor, farmers and labourers," he said.
Yogi said,"Through a single click, millions of farmers are receiving the benefits of schemes such as PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Ujjwala Yojana, and pensions for destitute women, disabled individuals and the elderly. Each scheme has become the foundation of self-reliance in the country today."
He mentioned various development and welfare initiatives undertaken during PM Modi's nine-year tenure. "PM Awas Yojana, construction of toilets, control of infectious diseases, Har Ghar Nal Yojana, SVANidhi Yojana to street vendors, PM SVAMITVA Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, women empowerment and mission employment, startup, standup, digital India were launched for the youth," he said.
Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, general secretary (organisation) Dharampal, national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
