Punjab registers record 2,896 fresh COVID cases, 57 deaths

Chandigarh, Sep 17 (UNI) As many as 2,896 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 57 deaths were reported in Punjab on Thursday, taking the infection tally to 90,032 and the death toll to 2,646 in the state.
According to an official health bulletin, the virus has so far claimed 12 lives in Ludhiana district, 9 in Jalandhar, 7 in Patiala, 6 in Fatehgarh Sahib, 4 in Pathankot, 3 each in Sangrur, Amritsar and Ferozepur and two deaths each in Bathinda, Moga, Hoshiarpur, Fazilka and Gurdaspur districts today.
It further said that 513 fresh cases were reported from Ludhiana district, 357 from Jalandhar, 294 from Patiala, 284 from SAS Nagar, 222 from Bathinda, 181 from Amritsar, 134 from Gurdaspur, 133 from Kapurthala, 96 from Ferozepur, 77 from Muktsar, 69 from Fazilka, 68 from Faridkot, 65 from Sangrur, 63 from Pathankot, 59 from Ropar, 56 from SBS Nagar, 48 from Hoshiarpur, 44 from Tarn Taran, 42 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 41 from Mansa, 39 from Barnala and 11 new cases from Moga district.
