Punjab: 122 more test corona +ve, one dies

Chandigarh, Jun 21 (UNI) Punjab recorded one more fatality and 122 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday, raising the death toll to 99 and the infection tally to 4,074 in the state.
According to an official bulletin, the fatal virus claimed one life in Ferozepur district today.
Of the new cases, 54 have been reported from Ludhiana district, 16 from Pathankot, seven from Hoshiarpur, six each from Fazilka and Jalandhar, five each from Gurdaspur and Ropar, four each from Amritsar and SAS Nagar, three from Patiala and Kapurthala, two each from SBS Nagar, Sangrur and Muktsar and one each from Tarn Taran, Faridkot and Fatehgarh Sahib districts.
Of the 122 new cases, source of infection to twenty-five patients is out of Punjab, it said.
Of 99 fatalities in the state so far, 31 deaths have been registered in Amritsar district, 14 each in Jalandhar and Ludhiana, six in Sangrur, five each in Hoshiarpur and Pathankot, four each in Patiala and Kapurthala, three each in Ferozepur, SAS Nagar and Gurdaspur, two each in Barnala and Tarn Taran and one each in SBS Nagar and Ropar districts.
According to the latest infection tally, Amritsar leads with 758 cases, followed by Ludhiana 550, Jalandhar 542, SAS Nagar 217, Patiala 209, Sangrur 206, Tarn Taran 181, Pathankot 183, Gurdaspur 181, Hoshiarpur 162, SBS Nagar 123, Faridkot 95, Ropar 89, Fatehgarh Sahib 88, Muktsar 81, Moga 75, Bathinda 64, Kapurthala 65, Ferozepur 62, Fazilka 61, Barnala 43 and Mansa 39.
As many as 2,700 patients have been cured of the virus so far in the state and discharged from hospitals.
Amritsar district tops the tally with 499, followed by Jalandhar 302, Ludhiana 175, Gurdaspur 163, Tarn Taran 161, SAS Nagar 148, Sangrur 134, Hoshiarpur 133, Pathankot 132, Patiala 129, SBS Nagar 109, Fatehgarh Sahib 74, Faridkot 73, Muktsar 72, Moga and Ropar 70 each, Bathinda 56, Fazilka 50, Ferozepur 46, Kapurthala 44, Mansa 35 and Barnala 25.
The bulletin further stated that there are 1275 active cases in the state. Twenty-one patients are on oxygen support and five patients are on ventilator.
Out of 2,40,803 samples taken in the state so far, 4,074 have tested positive, the bulletin added.
