Raipur, Aug 28 (UNI) As many as 1245 fresh COVID-19 positive patients were found in Chhattisgarh during the last 24 hours, taking active case tally to 11873 while 502 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery. Meanwhile six patients died, taking COVID-19 death toll to 251.
According to information received from health department out of 1245 fresh COVID positive cases maximum 448 belong to Raipur while 105 patients were found in Durg, 62 in Sarguja, 61 in Rajnandgaon, 65 in Janjgir-Champa, 44 in Mahasamund, 43 in Bilaspur, 40 in Bastar, 32 in Baloda-Bazaar, 28 in Mungeli, 27 in Bemetara, 71 in Raigarh , 20 in Dhamtari, 19 in Sukma, 18 in Narayanpur, 16 in Koriya, 15 in Bijapur, 14 in Balod, 36 in Kanker, 12 in Kabirdham, 9 each in Surajpur and Jashpur, 7 each in Bemetara and Gariaband, 19 in Korba, 6 in Balrampur, 5 in Kondagaon , 3 in Jashpur and 2 in Dantewada. Two patients have come from other states. Process of their hospitalisation is underway.
COVID-19 also caused death of six patients. A 63-year old woman from Kushalpur Raipur, a 70-year old man from Laxmi Nagar Raipur and a 72-year old man from Charoda Bhilai (Durg) died of COVID-19 in Raipur Medical College Hospital. An 11-year old girl from Mahasamund and a 56-year old woman from Tatyapara Raipur succumbed to COVID-19 in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur. Moreover a 42-year old man from Datrenga Raipur died of COVID-19 at a private hospital in Raipur.
