BJP starts micro donation campaign in Himachal


Hamirpur (HP), Jan 17 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday began its micro donation campaign under which anyone could donate Re 1 to Rs 1,000 in the party kitty.
The campaign was launched by former Chief Minister PK Dhumal from Sujanpur Tira in Hamirpur district with Rs 1,000.
Dhumal said the step was aimed at strengthening the finances of the party, one of the largest organizations in the world.
He appealed to people to donate money for the party fund and become its members.
Senior party leaders and MLAs Narendra Thakur and Kamlesh Kumari, besides former legislators Baldev Sharma and Vijay Agnihotri also took part in the micro donation campaign from other parts of the state.
The party is gearing up for theVidhan Sabha elections in 2022 later.
BJP will face stiff opposition after Congress won three assembly and one Lok Sabha bye-elections in the state last year.
