Farooq expresses concern over PM Modi calling Muslims as ‘infiltrators’

Srinagar, Apr 23 (UNI) National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday expressed concern over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech calling Muslims as “infiltrators”.
“It is unfortunate that Modi talked like this at a recent poll rally”, Farooq told media persons in Srinagar on Tuesday.
He said Islam and Allah teaches to do good with everybody.
"Islam never teaches to suppress the other religion rather directs to respect like we are doing our own.It will never happen, Prime Minister… that a son of the soil will snatch the ‘mangal Sutra’ of his mother or sister”, Farooq asked.
The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said “If you kill a person it would be the death of humanity..is that possible”.
“I am a Muslim, but my religious book Quran never teaches me to hate others. I love Muslims as much as I love to Hindu and Sikh. I understand that everyone should develop so that the nation can move forward”, the NC President said.
When asked about extending support by Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari to Peoples Conference candidate Sajad Lone in Baramulla Lok Sabha seat, Farooq said “it is unfortunate and I would like to appeal to all three either it is Ghulam Nabi Azad, Sajad Lone or Altaf Bukhari they should see from whom side they are in the field what is there (BJP’s) attitude towards Muslims of the country."
This election would be the last, Farooq said “the question is what is appearing before us. They (BJP) want one nation, one election. How can it be possible when there are 28 states all different. Secondly they are changing the constitution as they have themselves say they have to change the constitution.
This would be the last election and like the Russian President Vladimir Putin has sat on the chair the BJP will similarly want to sit the Prime Minister until he is alive”.
Farooq said “tell me why they (BJP) are saying that till 2047..should they stay there till 2047. How it could be..they have made up this in their minds that there would be no elections in future if they come to power and what they want to do are doing”.
Asked if there were doubts on the Assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir too, Farooq said “we don’t know whether Assembly elections will be held or not. When these will be held the supreme court had said. Who knows if the BJP won the election they will change directions of the Supreme Court also”.
