Notification issued for Ist phase of LS polls, nomination begin on 8 seats

Lucknow, Mar 20 (UNI) Notification for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh involving eight constituencies was issued on Wednesday, after which the process of nomination also started in these constituencies.
Eight Lok Sabha constituencies to be covered in the first phase include Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur, and Pilibhit. Out of 8 Lok Sabha seats in the first phase, 7 are in the general category and 1 is reserved for the scheduled caste.
All these 8 seats come under 3 divisions of the state, including Saharanpur, Moradabad, and Bareilly, and 9 districts: Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Meerut, Moradabad, Rampur, Pilibhit, and Bareilly.
