Notification for Ist phase of LS polls in UP on Wednesday

Lucknow, Mar 19 (UNI) Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh Navdeep Rinwa on Tuesday said that with the announcement of the dates of Lok Sabha elections by the Election Commission of India the election process in the state will begin from Wednesday.
Talking to the reporters, the CEO said in the first phase of the Lok Sabha General Election, a notification will be issued for 8 Lok Sabha constituencies on Wednesday. "With this, the process of nomination will start in these constituencies. Nominations can be made between 11 AM to 3 PM," he said.
He said 8 Lok Sabha constituencies to be covered in the first phase, include Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur, and Pilibhit. "Out of 8 Lok Sabha seats in the first phase, 7 are of general category and 1 is reserved for Scheduled Caste. All these 8 seats come under 3 divisions of the state, including Saharanpur, Moradabad, and Bareilly, and 09 districts, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Meerut, Moradabad, Rampur, Pilibhit, and Bareilly," he said.
