Chandigarh, Apr 9 (UNI) In order to raise awareness among students about voting in the Lok Sabha election, Gurugram University (GU) Vice Chancellor Dinesh Kumar inaugurated the Selfie Point at the University premises on Tuesday.
On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor urged the students present at the program to participate fully in the voting process.
He said that students should take selfies near the Selfie Point and post them on social media so that more and more people become aware of voting. The number of voters should increase, Kumar said.
The VC said that voting is the right of every Indian citizen and it provides an opportunity for direct participation in democracy. The stronger the participation of people in exercising their voting rights, the stronger the democracy will be, he said.
Kumar said that Youth is the backbone of the country. Their participation in this festival of democracy
is essential.
The Vice Chancellor expressed hope that young voters will be attracted to this campaign. He appealed to the students to come to the Selfie Point, take Selfies, and make this campaign successful.
