Hamirpur (HP), Dec 31(UNI) NIT Hamirpur, an institute of National Importance in Himachal Pradesh has been placed in the prestigious Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2021 released by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, it was reported on Friday.
ARIIA is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to systematically rank all major higher educational institutions in India on indicators related to Innovation, start-up, and Entrepreneurship Development amongst students and faculty.
According to the information received, 674 institutes have participated in the current edition of ARIIA 2020-21. NIT Hamirpur is only second to IIT Mandi from Himachal Pradesh to be included in this prestigious list of institutes.
The participating institutions from across the country were divided into five categories in ARIIA's ranking competition. Out of which, for the first time, NIT Hamirpur has secured its place in the “brand-promising category”.
NIT Hamirpur, which is one of the higher educational institutions of the state, has made a big jump by securing a place in the ranking of ARIIA for the first time.
It’s worth mentioning here that the NIT Hamirpur is making all-out efforts in improving its image that has been tainted due to the bad reputation and fallen ranking of the institute in the past.
NIT Hamirpur has taken excellent initiatives in filing patents, copyright design, quality measures and implemented recommendations of NEP-2020. Institute has been able to secure more than 40 research and development projects. All these good initiatives and efforts of NIT Hamirpur have resulted in the ARIIA ranking.
This ranking is being seen as a major achievement at NIT Hamirpur after being ranked in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements.
This milestone is an outcome of the relentless and continuous focus of NIT Hamirpur on fostering innovation, startup culture, competitive spirit, better teaching & research Environment, and encouraging students to solve real-life industrial problems, claimed Prof Lalit Awasthi, the Director of the institution.
He has put on record appreciation to all faculty, students, and staff members of NIT Hamirpur for this big achievement and hopes that everyone will be putting their efforts to enhance the reputation and perception of the institution.
