Varanasi, Nov 9, (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that movement of CNG-based boats on the occasion of Dev Deepawali on November 19 in Varanasi, will become a pollution-free medium of water transport in the river Ganga.
CM Yogi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished to free the Ganga from the toxic fumes and noise of a diesel-powered boat till the next Dev Deepawali. Sources said on Tuesday that about 500 motorboats running in the Ganges in Varanasi are targeted to run on CNG by November 19 on the occasion of Dev Deepawali. In the future, there is a plan to run 100 percent boats in Ganga on CNG. Mokshadayini Ganga will be the first river in the world, where CNG-based boats will run on such a large scale.
