U.P: Criminal arrested in encounter, policeman injured

Sambhal (UP), March 17 (UNI) A policeman was injured during an encounter with an allegedcriminal in the Bahjoi area here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Sunday.
The alleged criminal, who also sustained a bullet wound, has been arrested.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shirish Chandra said that acting on a tip-off, cops from Bhajoi police station attempted to intercept a criminal on Sunday night. "When signalled to stop the criminal opened fire on the police team in which head constable Pravesh Kumar was injured," he said.
