UP: History sheeter shot dead in Prayagraj

Prayagraj, Apr 8 (UNI) A history sheeter was shot dead by unidentified persons in Nawabganj area of Prayagraj district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Monday.
Police sources said that on Sunday information was received that a youth having injuries was lying in the orchard behind a private hospital in Kaurihar. "During investigation it was revealed that two more persons were present on the spot, but they escaped," they said.
Police sources said that the injured person was identified as Rituraj (26), a history sheeter of Nawabganj police station. "Several cases are lodged against Rituraj in Nawabganj and Jaunpur," they said.
Police sources said that the injured criminal was admitted to Swarup Rani Nehru hospital where he succumbed to injuries late on Sunday night. "It is being probed whether the bullet fired accidentally, or Rituraj was shot by his aides over some dispute," they said.
