Drug smuggler sent on police remand for 3 days

Phagwara, Apr 20 (UNI) A drug smuggler identified as Ram Paul of Green Land Colony who was arrested by Satnampura police after recovering 3kg of opium, 200 grams of heroin, one country made pistol, six live cartridges, and drug money of Rs 5,07 lakh from his possession on late Friday night was produced before local judicial magistrate Phagwara on Saturday, who sent him into police remand for three days.
The police have also impounded his Polo car, in which he attempted to flee after noticing the police party.
SP Phagwara Rupinder Kaur Bhatti said here on Saturday, after getting secret information, The CIA staff team raided the house of the accused, who, after seeing the police, jumped over the wall and tried to flee in his Polo car, but the cops succeeded in nabbing him.
