Chandigarh, Mar 6 (UNI) A major breakthrough came after Amritsar Commissionerate Police proactively cracked the gunhouse theft case with the arrest of two people after recovering 12 weapons and 21 cartridges from their possession.
DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav said here on Wednesday that those arrested have been identified as Ajit Singh alias Golu (19), a native of District Unnau in Uttar Pradesh, currently residing at Kot Harnam Das in Amritsar, and Mandeep Kumar alias Vada (20) of village Khaparkheri in Amritsar Rural. The recovered weapons include nine double barrel guns, three pump action (SBBL) guns, and a kirch (sharp weapon).
He said that some unidentified persons decamped with weapons, ammunition, and some cash from the Amritsar-based Royal Gun House on the intervening nights of February 21 and 22.
