J&K: Police arrests absconder after 21 years in Awantipora

Srinagar, Apr 3 (UNI) Police have arrested an absconder who was evading arrest for the past over two decades in sub district of Awantipora on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Reyaz Ahmad Alaie a resident of Awantipora and presently staying at Mehjoor Nagar in Srinagar.
The warrant under section 512 CrPC issued by the Court of Principal Session Judge Pulwama was executed by the Police against the accused who was evading arrest for the past 21 years.

Ex-gratia for family members if polling personnel die on duty

Chandigarh, May 2 (UNI) Ex-gratia financial assistance will be provided to the families of polling or security personnel in case of death or permanent disability while on election duty. Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Agarwal said on Thursday.
"In the unfortunate events of violent incidents, bomb blasts, terrorist attacks, or shootings leading
to the death of personnel, the family will receive Rs 30 lakh.
