5,476 new COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Jan 13 (UNI) The novel coronavirus is accelerating in Chhattisgarh where a record 5,476 fresh instances of infection and four fatalities – all the deaths occurred here – were reported following analysis of 59,218 samples over the past 24 hours during which the number of active cases shot up to 27,425 even as 1,933 individuals recuperated.
Health Department sources said that the positivity rate touched 9.25 per cent. The district-wise break-up of new sufferers includes Raipur 1,785 (the state’s highest); Durg 800; Bilaspur 418; Korba 403; Raigarh 348; Janjgir-Champa 321; Jashpur 279; Surguja 221; Rajnandgaon 214; Balodabazar-Bhatapara 71; Surajpur 70 and Koriya 65.
