Engineering Students of Sinhgad Institutes develops ‘Kick Scooter’ as an Innovative Urban Mobility Solution

Pune, Nov 4 (UNI) A group of final year engineering students of Sinhgad College of Engineering in Pune developed ‘Kick Scooter’. Driven by an insatiable desire to create something as a solution to the daily traffic jams in the city which is a common urban mobility problem.
Amit Hulsure, Hrishikesh Sutar, Akshay Salunke, and Jaineel Soni after a lot of study decided upon developing the ‘Kick Scooter’.
Demonstrating the simplicity, style, rideability and the research involved, Amit Hulsure elaborated on the innovative features in the ‘Kick Scooter’ such as the front steering assembly, length of the handle bars, the hub motors, the controller elements, batteries, the design, the testing and so on. The kick scooter can travel a distance of 30 KMs on a single charge of 3 hours. The batteries can be recharged at home, at office with a charger which has been very conveniently included with the Electric Kick Scooter for easy charging at any available socket including a household socket. This makes it very convenient for small distance travel, even travel to office if the location is not too far. The scooter runs on a 350-watt BLDC motor – Brushless DC Motors, powered by a 15Ah Lithium Ion battery pack and is equipped with front and rear suspension to handle tough Indian roads. It is efficiently packed within an all Aluminum frame weighing only 17 Kilograms which also comes along with the most practical feature of foldability which further enhances the versatility of the scooter. This easy-to-drive scooter reduces the cost of transportation by more than 90% as compared to two-wheelers in India, said a press statement here today. Consider the other benefits such as zero air pollution, savings in fuel cost and most important of all the saving of time lost in traffic jams.
