Congress MLA Kewal Singh Pathania appointed as Chief Whip

Shimla, Mar 13 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, has appointed Shapur Kewal Singh Pathania as the first-time Congress Member of Assembly as Chief Whip of the Legislative Assembly.
In a notification issued by the secretary Vidhan Sabha Yashpal Sharma stated that the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, Yashpal Sharma, has approved the appointment of Pathania under the HP Chief Whip and Deputy Chief Whip Act.
The Congress government is attempting to control further defection in the party legislature after crossing over votes in the Rajya Sabha election and disqualifying six MLAs.
