HP govt distributed free medicines during last two and half years: Official

Hamirpur (HP), Jul 26 (UNI) Department of health and family welfare has distributed medicines to the tune of 7.63 crore rupees to the people during last two and half years, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Archna Soni said here on Sunday.
She said that about 330 types of medicines were given to the people as per information maintained with the department. The scheme of providing essential medicines free of cost has brought great relief, especially for poor and middle-class patients.
The supply of medicines has been made through a wide network of the health institutions working in the district including a medical college hospital in the district. There are 39 government hospitals including five civil hospitals, four community health centres and more than two dozen primary health centres and 153 health sub-centres across the district.
