DC reviewed the progress of schemes of women & child Development

Nawanshahar, Aug 7 (UNI) Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shena Aggarwal reviewed the progress of the schemes of Women and Child Development Department, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar on Friday. In a meeting with the officials in this regard, the Deputy Commissioner directed that the benefits of the schemes being run by the Punjab and the Government of India for women and children as a whole should be extended to the lowest level.
District Program Officer Gurcharan Singh shared the progress of all the schemes of the department and the difficulties faced by the officers present in various departments. Giving information about the Aanganwari Centers being run by the department during this meeting, he said that there were 792 Aanganwari Centers running in the district Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in which the beneficiaries under the survey determined by the Aanganwari Workers / Helpers posted, such as pregnant women, There are six types of services being provided to mothers, children aged 0-6 years and adolescent girls. These services include nutrition, pre-school education, immunizations, referral services, health check-ups, health nutrition education.
Apart from this, under the Nutrition Campaign, various activities are being carried out to eradicate malnutrition and anemia. Under the Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter scheme, awareness activities are drawn up for the empowerment of girls.
