GMDA and FMDA will now get EDC's full money

Chandigarh, Apr 9 (UNI) The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) will now receive the full amount of External Development Charges (EDC) in the Gurugram district from April 1. Similarly, EDC money to be deposited from Faridabad district will also go to Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA). Only GMDA or FMDA will control this money.
This decision was taken during the 8th meeting of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) held in Gurugram under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today. At the meeting, the Action Taken Report on the decisions taken during the 7th meeting of GMDA was submitted and approved. In the meeting, the GMDA's budget proposal for the year 2021-22 was also passed. Union Minister, Sh. Rao Inderjit Singh, Haryana Transport Minister Sh. Mool Chand Sharma were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, another important decision was taken about increasing the income of GMDA according to which GMDA will now get half of the stamp duty, i.e., one per cent out of the two per cent stamp duty which is levied at the time of registration of land or plot. The GMDA is also expected to earn around Rs 250 crore a year from this move. Besides this, there was a discussion on interlinking the lines of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Gurugram Rapid Metro, and Dwarka Expressway. It was informed at the meeting that a proposal has been sent to the Central Government to connect Gurugram Metro with the Rapid Metro Route near Cyber City.
