Rampur, July 17(UNI) Six passengers of a private double decker bus were killed and 22 others were injured when the bus hit a truck near Zero point on the bypass under Civil Lines police station on Moradabad- Bareilly Highway on late Saturday night.

Police here on Sunday said while 5 died on the spot, one another succumbed to injury at the hospital. Deceased included five male and a female. The injured were admitted to the hospital.

The bus was going from Shahjahanpur to Delhi while the truck was coming from Moradabad. The passengers of the bus were badly trapped and police had to evacuate the trapped passengers.

Additional SP Dr Sansar Singh said that an empty truck was coming from Moradabad and the bus was coming from Shahjahanpur. The two collided head-on on the bypass.

The deceased have been identified as, Shahjahanpur residents Naseem (52), Sami-ul-Haq (35) and Sakshi (26) and efforts are on to identify others.
